Technician - Component Engineering

Role Overview Flex, a globally recognised diversified manufacturing partner for leading brands, is looking for a Technician in Component Engineering to join their Chennai team. Key Responsibilities - Collect, validate, and manage technical attributes for electronic components - Validate manufacturer part numbers and build complete orderable parts listings - Coordinate with sites and customers to identify alternate electronic components by comparing technical attributes - Understand customer and site requirements and develop tailored project templates - Ensure compliance with agreed policies, procedures, and documentation standards - Maintain data accuracy across logs, reports, and distribution records - Track product configuration and manufacturing or customer requirements - Serve as a liaison between program managers, engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams for change documentation - Enter and maintain component data, manufacturer information, and approved vendor lists in the global component database - Create and manage component databases for electrical, electronic, and indirect materials - Review component parameter attributes from datasheets for quality assurance - Monitor component end-of-life status and manage component obsolescence - Participate in cross-functional teams to implement product component changes Required Qualifications - Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, EEE, Mechanical, or Electronics - 0 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the EMS industry - Sound knowledge of electronic components and technical subject matter - Proficiency in MS Office and MS Outlook - Strong written and oral communication skills - Excellent analytical and logical reasoning abilities - Positive attitude and willingness to work in night shifts Why Join Us Flex fosters a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work culture where every team member has the opportunity to grow and make a meaningful impact.
