Technical Writer

Role Overview Vestas, the global leader in wind energy solutions, is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join its Technical Documentation Team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for converting complex engineering and operational data into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation that supports global stakeholders across the product lifecycle. You will work within the Product Line ONS Scheduled Service Documentation and IPC division, contributing directly to the development and maintenance of wind turbine technologies. Key Responsibilities - Author and maintain DITA-compliant technical content in line with DITA best practices and standards - Prepare content that is ready for localisation and suitable for diverse global audiences based on end-user analysis - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive alignment, validation, and review processes for all documentation - Ensure all documentation adheres to Vestas style guidelines, the STE100 standard, and Vestas-specific terminology requirements - Create target audience specific content tailored to the needs of end users across different regions Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering - 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in technical writing - Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to work - Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team - A quality-first mindset and strong ownership of deliverables - Cultural awareness and experience working with global teams across multiple time zones Why Join Us At Vestas, you will be part of a forward-thinking international organisation working at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, with strong opportunities for both professional growth and personal development.
