Role Overview
Vestas is a global leader in wind energy solutions, and we are growing our Blades Process Engineering team in Chennai. As a Finish and Paint Process Engineering Specialist, you will be a core part of a highly skilled team of engineers dedicated to optimizing manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades. This role sits within the Manufacturing division and focuses on building a standardized, data-driven process culture that drives improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Finish and Paint production processes for wind turbine blade manufacturing
- Create and maintain Process Requirements, Specifications, and Process Flow documentation
- Perform AS IS analysis and develop future-state process roadmaps
- Support Process Industrialization and standardization across manufacturing sites
- Coordinate and lead process optimization initiatives at manufacturing facilities
- Use digital tools including digital twins and data analytics to drive performance improvements
- Investigate and resolve production issues using structured methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
- Apply continuous improvement principles including SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste and enhance product quality
- Contribute to building a workplace culture centered on excellence, innovation, and accountability
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Green Belt Six Sigma certification or Advanced Manufacturing Process Analysis training
- Approximately 6 years of experience in a process engineering role within manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience in Process Requirements formulation, manufacturing process specifications, and process flow creation
- Strong background in data-driven process analysis within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of composite materials including paint products, fiberglass, and epoxy resins is highly advantageous
- Experience with Finish and Paint processes or precision manufacturing environments
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of building cross-cultural stakeholder networks
- Willingness to spend time on the factory floor to understand and resolve production challenges

Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent

- Proficiency in data analysis tools and data-driven decision making

- Hands-on experience with 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA methodologies
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and Kaizen practices
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to work in factory environments as needed
