Assistant Lead Illustrator - IPC Technical Illustration

Role Overview Vestas, the global leader in wind energy solutions, is looking for an experienced Assistant Lead Illustrator specialising in IPC Technical Illustration to join its Transport Documentation and S-BoM Readiness team in Chennai. This mid-senior role sits within the Transformation, Enablement and Innovation division and plays a vital part in creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation packages for both onshore and offshore wind turbine projects. You will work cross-functionally with Spare Parts, Technical Leads, and Subject Matter Experts to deliver accurate illustrated parts catalogues that meet international quality standards and serve global stakeholders. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with the Spare Parts team to track SBOM availability and build illustration plans accordingly - Design, create, and update technical parts illustrations for Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC) including new Mk upgrade projects - Coordinate with Technical Leads and SMEs to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope - Reduce illustration review cycles by producing precise, high-quality outputs that minimise rework - Ensure all printed and digital illustrations meet defined quality, colour, and format standards - Support continuous improvement initiatives related to illustration quality and faster turnaround times - Manage multiple stakeholder requirements in a structured, detail-oriented manner with minimal supervision - Create and revise technical parts visuals in support of new product introductions and ongoing product updates Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline - Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in technical illustration for industrial or engineering products - Proficiency in Creo Illustrate along with working knowledge of PDMLink, MS Office, and Adobe Photoshop - Familiarity with Service Information Manager, Arbortext, and Windchill platforms - Prior experience in the wind energy, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial illustration domain - Strong project planning skills with the ability to manage end-to-end execution independently - Solid stakeholder management and cross-cultural communication abilities - Experience with Parts Authoring is an added advantage; 3D knowledge is a bonus but not mandatory Why Join Us At Vestas, you will be part of a globally connected yet closely knit team where collaboration, team spirit, and a shared passion for sustainable energy define the work culture.
