Role Overview
Standard Chartered India is hiring a Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of High Net Worth and Priority Customers in Chennai. This is a mid-senior level full-time role focused on deepening client relationships, driving revenue growth, and delivering exceptional banking experiences. You will act as the single point of contact for affluent clients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing Priority and HNW customers to increase share of wallet and generate revenue
- Generate new business by meeting defined targets across customer acquisition, product volumes, and revenue for the segment
- Achieve cross-sell targets and execute aggressive sales call plans to acquire large prospective clients through referrals
- Induct new customers sourced through branches and direct sales teams and ensure proper onboarding
- Maintain and update all sales MIS including calls, prospects, attritions, and business completed
- Coordinate customer events for the cluster in collaboration with the product team
- Ensure NPS scores remain in the second quartile or above compared to peers
- Maintain full compliance with KYC, anti-money laundering policies, operational risk guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct
- Identify, escalate, and help resolve any risk, conduct, or compliance matters proactively
Required Qualifications
- Graduate or post-graduate degree with a consistent academic record
- 2 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in banking or financial services
- Strong sales orientation with a highly target-driven approach
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Good understanding of banking products and wealth management concepts
- Ability to quickly grasp new products and concepts and adapt in a competitive environment
- Proficiency in maintaining management information systems and customer records

Requirements
- Graduate or post-graduate with a consistent academic background
- 2 to 5 years of sales experience in banking or financial services
- Strong knowledge of banking and wealth management products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly target-oriented with a proactive sales mindset
- Ability to manage HNW client portfolios and build long-term relationships
- Familiarity with CRM and sales MIS tools
- Awareness of KYC, AML, and regulatory compliance requirements
