Job Description

Role Overview Standard Chartered India is seeking a seasoned banking professional for the role of Director - Affluent Relations based in Chennai. This is a senior leadership position focused on managing affluent customer relationships, driving branch-level revenue through multi-product sales, and ensuring service excellence across the network. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in retail banking, wealth management, and team leadership within a high-performance environment. Key Responsibilities - Maximize revenue targets by cross-selling liability products (CASA, term deposits), wealth management solutions, and secured or unsecured asset products - Generate new business through outreach campaigns, in-branch interactions, and sales promotions - Lead branch sales planning and implement strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and portfolio growth - Monitor customer satisfaction metrics including Net Promoter Score and drive continuous service improvement - Ensure full compliance with KYC, CDD, EDD, AML, ORMA, and Group Code of Conduct policies at all times - Report suspicious transactions immediately as per regulatory guidelines and ensure audit-ready branch operations - Drive people management initiatives including performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement - Oversee premises management, health and safety compliance, and operational efficiency across the branch - Collaborate with Branch Managers and Area Directors to implement segment and product strategies for PRB, Premium, Personal, and SME customer groups Required Qualifications - Preferably a Master's Degree in any discipline; additional banking certifications are an advantage - Proven track record of managing sizeable profit centers and distribution networks with full P&L accountability - Strong knowledge of retail banking products including CASA, loans, deposits, insurance, and investment products - Proficiency in banking software, applications, and CEMS systems - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders - Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor large branch teams in a regulated banking environment Why Join Us Standard Chartered is a globally respected bank with over 170 years of history, committed to making a positive difference for clients, communities, and employees. Requirements

- Expertise in retail banking products including CASA, loans, term deposits, insurance, and investments - Strong wealth management knowledge and affluent customer handling skills - Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on portfolio growth - Proficiency in banking software and CEMS systems - Excellent communication and presentation skills - High level of integrity and interpersonal effectiveness - Ability to influence senior management and provide strategic thought leadership - Experience managing profit centers and distribution networks with full P&L ownership - Knowledge of KYC, CDD, EDD, AML, and regulatory compliance frameworks - Proven people management, mentoring, and succession planning capabilities - Master's Degree preferred; banking certifications are an added advantage
