RC L1 Operator - Remote Center Wind Farm Operations

Role Overview Siemens Gamesa is hiring an RC L1 Operator to join its Remote Center Operations team in Chennai. In this frontline role, you will be responsible for real-time monitoring and operational control of wind farms within the Remote Center's scope. This is a full-time position that demands strong situational awareness, clear communication, and the ability to make accurate operational decisions under pressure in a 24/7 environment. Key Responsibilities - Monitor and control wind farms in real time within the assigned Remote Center scope - Evaluate incoming alarms and anomalies and execute the appropriate corrective actions - Manage curtailment requests from Grid Operators and handle emergency stoppages as required - Coordinate on-site maintenance activities in collaboration with local field teams - Perform remote operations of electrical substations and conduct routine status reviews - Identify and report system or process deviations to the relevant managers - Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to operations, tools, and methodologies - Support Root Cause Analysis activities and provide operational validation of IT tools during testing Required Qualifications - Technical educational background in a relevant discipline - Knowledge or hands-on experience in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) operation processes - Familiarity with WTG technical systems is an added advantage - Strong oral and written communication skills in English at minimum B2 level - Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure with a structured and autonomous approach - Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative and team-oriented attitude Why Join Us Siemens Gamesa is a global leader in wind energy and part of Siemens Energy, committed to driving the clean energy transition across the world. - Technical educational background in engineering or a related field - Experience or knowledge in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) operations - WTG technical knowledge is desirable - Advanced English proficiency (minimum B2 level) - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work under pressure and make timely operational decisions - Structured problem-solving approach with autonomous working style - Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset - Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment
