Procurement Professional

Role Overview Caterpillar Inc. is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Procurement Professional to join their global team in Chennai. This role sits within the Procurement function and involves processing requisitions, supporting sourcing and cost analysis, and assisting in the generation of contracts and purchase orders. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute improvement plans supporting buyers and procurement professionals across quality, cost, logistics, development, and management parameters - Perform analysis and maintenance of assigned procurement processes to achieve output excellence and drive continuous improvement - Support customer proposal efforts by providing accurate pricing information and assisting in supplier selection - Carry out analytical and administrative tasks in support of strategic purchasing initiatives - Create Power BI dashboards and implement data governance frameworks for procurement projects - Design and deploy end-to-end Power Automate workflows to reduce manual processing - Conduct deep-dive analytics and manage large-scale relational datasets to inform procurement decisions - Process routine purchase orders and payments using established procurement systems - Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, inspection reports, and procurement documentation - Assist in developing process flows to track lead times and integrate logistics operations Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from a Tier 1 university or college, or equivalent professional experience - Working knowledge of procurement systems, e-procurement tools, and purchasing procedures - Proficiency in data-driven decision-making using relevant analytical tools and KPI frameworks - Ability to create Power BI dashboards and manage project data governance - Experience designing Power Automate workflows and working with large relational datasets - Strong project management skills including planning, scheduling, and status reporting - Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders - Sound understanding of logistics management including shipment tracking and cost assessment - Familiarity with procurement compliance requirements and contract documentation standards Why Join Us At Caterpillar, you will join a globally respected team of problem solvers and innovators who are actively shaping the future of infrastructure and sustainability.
