Job Description

Role Overview Vestas is a global leader in sustainable wind energy solutions, specialising in the design, manufacturing, and servicing of wind turbines. This role sits within the Blades Process Engineering team in Chennai, where you will serve as a subject matter expert for Finish and Paint tooling, driving process excellence, innovation, and accountability across the manufacturing value stream. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and optimise tools used in the Finish and Paint processes for blade manufacturing - Define tooling functional requirements, specifications, and industrialisation standards - Develop and implement service, maintenance, and Total Productive Maintenance strategies - Support supplier management activities and contribute to CAPEX budget planning - Investigate and resolve production issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA - Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles to reduce waste, improve process efficiency, and maintain product quality - Specify equipment that complies with CE marking, local safety regulations, and sustainability and energy efficiency requirements - Collaborate on cross-functional product development projects across global teams and time zones Required Qualifications - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline - Green Belt Six Sigma certification or equivalent advanced manufacturing process analysis qualification - 6 to 8 years of experience in tooling development, functional requirements specification, maintenance planning, and supplier management - Hands-on experience in a data-driven manufacturing organisation - Knowledge of composite materials including paint, fibreglass, and epoxy resins - Proficiency in root-cause analysis tools and continuous improvement methodologies - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build cross-cultural networks Why Join Us Vestas offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a flat, multicultural, and collaborative engineering organisation at the forefront of the global green energy transition. Requirements

- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - Green Belt Six Sigma or Advanced Manufacturing Process Analysis certification - 6 to 8 years of experience in tooling engineering and manufacturing environments - Experience with tool development, functional specifications, and maintenance planning - Knowledge of composite materials such as paint, fibreglass, and epoxy resins - Proficiency in 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA methodologies - Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement tools - Experience with CE marking and safety regulation compliance for equipment - Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - Ability to work cross-functionally across cultures and time zones - Self-motivated, result-oriented, and highly organised
