Executive - Research and Development

Role Overview Saint-Gobain Group in India is looking for a skilled R&D Executive to join its research team in Chennai. This role focuses on the development and optimization of construction chemical products including drymix mortars, cement-based systems, epoxy grouts, and adhesives. You will play a key role in driving product innovation while ensuring full compliance with international standards and laboratory protocols. Key Responsibilities - Conduct end-to-end research and development activities for drymix mortars, cement-based systems, epoxy grouts, and adhesive products - Develop and optimize formulations for tile adhesives, grouts, repair mortars, self-leveling compounds, and plaster systems - Carry out performance testing on epoxy grout formulations and other newly developed products - Monitor and control critical parameters such as rheology, setting time, strength development, and long-term durability - Ensure all products and processes comply with IS, ASTM, and EN standards along with EHS and IMS documentation requirements - Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development and continuous improvement of existing product lines Required Qualifications - 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in R&D of cementitious or construction chemical products - Practical knowledge of drymix mortars, cement-based systems, epoxy grouts, and adhesive formulations - Strong understanding of cement chemistry, supplementary cementitious materials, polymers, additives, and mineral admixtures - Familiarity with plant-scale drymix manufacturing processes and quality control parameters - Exposure to relevant industry standards including IS, ASTM, and EN norms - Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams Why Join Us Saint-Gobain is a globally recognized leader in sustainable building solutions with a strong legacy of innovation and technical excellence. - 2 to 5 years of experience in R&D of cementitious or construction chemical products - Hands-on experience with drymix mortars, cement-based systems, epoxy grouts, and adhesives - Knowledge of tile adhesives, grouts, repair mortars, self-leveling compounds, and plaster systems - Understanding of epoxy grout formulations and performance testing methods - Familiarity with rheology control, setting time adjustment, and strength development - Strong knowledge of cement chemistry, SCMs, polymers, additives, and mineral admixtures - Exposure to IS, ASTM, and EN standards and EHS and IMS documentation practices - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail - Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
