Director - Blades PE Finish and Paint

Role Overview Vestas is a global leader in wind energy solutions, specialising in the design, manufacturing, installation, and servicing of wind turbines. This senior leadership role sits within the Blades Process Engineering organisation at Vestas Technology and Operations, a co-located team of subject matter experts dedicated to embedding engineering knowledge directly into the manufacturing value stream. As Director for Blades PE Finish and Paint, you will own the strategy, performance, and continuous improvement of the Finish and Paint process area while building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability. Key Responsibilities - Analyse current-state processes and develop future-state strategies for the Finish and Paint area - Drive performance management by defining, monitoring, and improving KPIs and process indicators - Establish and manage a Competence Centre within the process area and lead structured Kaizen events - Apply Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to deliver quantitative, data-driven improvements - Develop and maintain standardised manufacturing processes, tooling solutions, and user-focused factory documentation - Ensure repeatability and scalability of processes across internal and external manufacturing sites - Attract, develop, and retain highly skilled process engineering professionals - Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to resolve operational issues with speed and quality Required Qualifications - Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline - Green Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent advanced manufacturing process analysis certification - 10 or more years of experience in similar process engineering or manufacturing leadership roles - Proven track record of leading teams of highly skilled specialists within a process engineering environment - Strong background in data-driven and quality-driven manufacturing cultures - Knowledge of composite materials including fibreglass, carbon fibre, epoxy resins, and related production materials - Fluency in English with clear written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills - Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with excellent organisational discipline and cross-cultural collaboration skills Why Join Us At Vestas, you will be part of a flat, multicultural, and forward-thinking organisation with a mission to power sustainable energy solutions for the world.
