Controls Engineer - PLC and SCADA Programming

Role Overview BW Design Group is looking for a skilled Controls Engineer to join its Chennai team and take charge of PLC and SCADA programming, testing, and commissioning across industrial automation projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with clients and vendors, and play a key role in delivering automation projects across diverse industries including pharmaceutical and consumer goods manufacturing. Key Responsibilities - Develop user applications to monitor and control consumer goods production in compliance with industry and regulatory standards - Design control systems that provide real-time feedback throughout the entire production life cycle - Program, design, and troubleshoot packaging machinery and line control systems - Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions and perform Industrial Controller (PLC) programming - Provide electrical engineering design support including control panel design - Support project teams with data analytics, reporting, and automation application development - Travel to project sites as required for installation, start-up, client meetings, and training activities Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation and Control, or an equivalent technical discipline - Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in PLC and SCADA programming - Proficiency in SQL and Python programming - Strong ability to manage multiple project responsibilities simultaneously - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management, clients, and vendors - Experience with data analytics, reporting, and electrical engineering automation applications preferred - Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical and Rockwell PLC programming is an advantage - Prior project exposure in pharmaceutical, consumer products, or high-speed manufacturing environments is a plus Why Join Us BW Design Group offers a collaborative and growth-oriented work culture where engineers are empowered to expand their technical capabilities on challenging, real-world automation projects.
