Job Description

Role Overview Saint-Gobain Group in India is looking for a driven and technically sound Business Development Engineer to join their team in Chennai. This is a full-time mid-senior level opportunity for a professional who can bridge the gap between technical product knowledge and commercial sales strategy. The ideal candidate will take ownership of new business development, manage customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across assigned territories. Key Responsibilities - Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market mapping - Conduct product trials at customer sites and follow through on business conversion - Generate bulk orders and maintain detailed records of all trial activities and conversions - Prepare and consolidate weekly reports including market mapping and competitor analysis - Gather and analyse market intelligence, customer requirements, and competitor activity - Track outstanding receivables and ensure timely collections - Handle complaint resolution and provide effective technical solutions to customers - Lead commercial negotiations and close deals in line with company targets - Deliver technical presentations, participate in tech shows, and represent the brand at industry events Required Qualifications - Proven experience in business development or technical sales, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment - Strong understanding of product trials, order management, and commercial negotiation - Excellent communication and presentation skills for client-facing interactions - Ability to analyse market data and translate insights into actionable sales strategies - Experience in receivables tracking and maintaining accurate business records Why Join Us Saint-Gobain Group is a globally recognised leader in sustainable construction and industrial solutions, offering a dynamic work environment with strong growth prospects.
