Associate Manager, Product Applications Engineering

Role Overview KLA is a global semiconductor process control leader whose technologies power virtually every electronic device manufactured today. The Associate Manager, Product Applications Engineering will lead a team of highly skilled applications development engineers within the Broadband Plasma Division, supporting cutting-edge optical inspection systems used by the world's top logic, foundry, and memory chipmakers. This is a mid-senior leadership role that blends deep technical expertise with people management, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage a team of applications development engineers as their direct reporting manager - Partner with other Applications Managers to evaluate global resource needs and plan quarterly staffing requirements - Collaborate with Product Marketing and Engineering teams to drive successful beta evaluations, early customer engagements, and new product introductions - Support the Marketing team on technical programs aimed at inserting KLA products into customers' advanced technology nodes - Build and maintain strong customer relationships to understand technical challenges and convert them into actionable product solutions - Conduct weekly data reviews to ensure newly onboarded engineers complete training on schedule and meet customer support standards Required Qualifications - Master's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; or a Bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience - Minimum 2 years of experience in Applications Engineering, Process Engineering, Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related semiconductor industry role - Hands-on experience with semiconductor inspection, metrology, or process technology - Demonstrated ability to support customer engagements including tool evaluations, demos, and technology adoption - Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, product engineering, and customer-facing teams - Strong technical communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into customer-relevant insights - Prior experience in people leadership, mentoring, or direct team management is preferred - Domain knowledge in logic, memory (DRAM or NAND), or advanced packaging process flows is a plus Why Join Us KLA invests over 15% of its annual sales back into research and development, making it one of the most innovation-driven companies in the semiconductor industry.
