Job Description

Role Overview GE Vernova is looking for a motivated System Engineer to join its Marine Automation and Control team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering and technical execution of Marine, Oil and Gas, and Power projects, with a strong focus on marine automation solutions. You will act as the primary technical bridge between customers, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure timely, budget-aligned, and quality-driven project delivery. Key Responsibilities - Analyse customer contracts and prepare detailed technical specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders - Perform basic and detailed engineering for marine automation systems including HMI, controllers, and associated technologies - Prepare and review technical documentation in line with contractual obligations - Identify technical risks and formulate mitigation strategies to safeguard project outcomes - Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology, Project Management, and Supply Chain teams to support project and business needs - Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and GE business entities to maximise efficiency and value - Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies and all applicable health and safety regulations - Propose and implement process improvements, tools, and system solutions in alignment with leadership guidance - Promote a lean mindset to deliver optimum and cost-effective technical solutions Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution - 1 to 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related Engineering discipline - Understanding of marine automation systems, HMI, and control systems is an advantage - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice for project assignments Why Join Us GE Vernova offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where engineers work on cutting-edge marine and energy automation projects with a global impact. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology - 1 to 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field - Knowledge of marine automation systems, HMI, and control systems - Experience preparing technical documentation and vendor reviews - Ability to identify and manage technical risks - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively in matrix and cross-functional team environments - Self-motivated with strong time management and prioritisation skills - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at short notice - Lean mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
