System Design Team Leader

Role Overview Valeo is looking for an experienced System Design Team Leader to join its engineering division in Chennai. This is a full-time mid-senior level role that involves leading a team of engineers and technicians while driving engineering process excellence, robust design standards, and project delivery efficiency. Key Responsibilities - Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians through yearly performance reviews, goal setting, and regular team meetings - Define training plans, propose career development paths, and contribute to recruitment activities for the department - Allocate team resources effectively across multiple project activities - Propose and monitor the team budget and own the Team Efficiency Plan and its achievement targets - Deploy and uphold engineering processes, methodologies, and tools as defined in coordination with the Engineering discipline Manager or Director - Ensure full implementation of the 5 Axes methodology across all design activities - Participate in the continuous improvement of standards, methods, and tools within the engineering discipline - Support the RAISE team by ensuring proper knowledge transfer, training, and implementation of engineering standards - Review and challenge destandardization requests prior to release - Ensure every design output achieves the highest level of robust design quality Required Qualifications - Proven experience in leading engineering or system design teams in an automotive or technology-driven environment - Strong understanding of engineering design processes, methodologies, and tools - Experience with robust design principles and standardization frameworks - Ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, and drive team performance - Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset Why Join Us Valeo is a global automotive technology leader committed to innovation and engineering excellence.
