Role Overview

As a Discipline Engineer at Valeo Chennai, you will play a pivotal role in researching, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms for autonomous driving systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of automotive engineering and cutting-edge artificial intelligence within a globally recognised innovation leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop, benchmark, test, and document advanced algorithms for autonomous driving applications
- Explore and evaluate new vision-based and multi-sensor technologies, ideas, and approaches for next-generation ADAS
- Support Intellectual Property activities by generating Invention Disclosure Memos to facilitate patent applications
- Participate in and contribute to design reviews across cross-functional algorithm development teams
- Develop algorithms with a focus on deployment on embedded automotive platforms
- Represent Valeo at industry working groups, technical conferences, and external forums
- Support the design and delivery of in-house training sessions in your area of specialisation
- Identify process inefficiencies in algorithm development workflows and propose or implement improvements
- Stay current with advancements in automotive sensor-based ADAS, deep learning frameworks, and related techniques
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Hands-on experience in algorithm development for autonomous driving or ADAS systems
- Strong knowledge of deep learning frameworks and computer vision techniques
- Experience working with embedded platforms and real-time system constraints
- Familiarity with patent documentation or Intellectual Property processes is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multicultural global environment
- Exposure to automotive industry standards and sensor technologies such as LiDAR, radar, or camera systems
