Structural Design Engineer - Civil (EDRC)

Role Overview Larsen and Toubro is looking for a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join its Engineering Design and Research Centre (EDRC) team at the Bhogapuram Site or EDRC Headquarters in Chennai. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity suited for civil engineers with hands-on experience in structural design of Steel and RCC structures. The role involves end-to-end ownership of design activities from concept to construction stage, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities - Carry out concept design, detail design, and construction documentation for Steel and RCC structures as per project scope - Prepare engineering specifications and quantity estimates for structural elements - Coordinate design activities with other disciplines and resolve inter-disciplinary clashes in a timely manner - Ensure all drawings and technical documents are delivered accurately and on schedule to support construction teams - Apply relevant Indian and international structural codes and standards throughout the design lifecycle - Use structural analysis software such as ETABS, STAAD, and SAFE for design modelling and validation Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline (mandatory) - Master's degree in Structural Engineering (preferred) - 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in structural design engineering - Strong knowledge of structural analysis tools including ETABS, STAAD Pro, and SAFE - Understanding of construction methods, material specifications, and quantity surveying - Familiarity with relevant codes, drawing interpretation, and geographical design considerations - Good presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset Why Join Us Larsen and Toubro is one of India's most respected engineering and construction conglomerates, offering a dynamic work environment where engineers are empowered to innovate and grow.
