Contracts and Claims Manager

Role Overview Larsen and Toubro is looking for an experienced Contracts and Claims Manager to lead and oversee the corporate contracts function in support of its business units. This senior role demands deep expertise in contract management, claim preparation, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation within large-scale civil and construction projects. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic partner to project teams while safeguarding the company's contractual entitlements throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Study bid documents thoroughly to identify potential risk areas and develop contingency plans for the tendering team - Prepare pre-bid queries and Contract Appreciation Documents (CAD) for internal stakeholder circulation - Monitor project execution from a contractual standpoint, ensuring company obligations are met and entitlements are protected - Prepare and submit claims for extra work, delays, and other site-related issues in coordination with project teams - Guide and monitor all client correspondence relating to scope, delays, and contractual matters - Coordinate with Dispute Resolution Bodies (DRB), Arbitration Tribunals, and legal counsel for dispute settlements - Draft high-value work orders and agreements with subcontractors and standardize formats for such documentation - Sensitize project teams on contract importance, correspondence discipline, and early identification of red flags - Coordinate with JV partners and vendors to ensure common understanding of contract terms - Lead team development initiatives and drive capability building within the contracts function Required Qualifications - Educational background in B.E. - B.E.
