Senior Project Accounting Administrator

Role Overview McDermott International, Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Project Accounting Administrator to join its finance team in Chennai. This role demands a professional with strong project accounting knowledge, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the capacity to guide junior colleagues. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting systems, financial reporting processes, and capital expenditure management in a dynamic, multi-cultural work environment. Key Responsibilities - Review, verify, and record submitted invoices and supporting documentation - Collaborate with finance teams to maintain accurate Capital Expenditure reporting for capital spending activities - Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure correct GL and Fixed Asset coding of capital items - Prepare capital invoices with appropriate GL and FA coding and submit billing for reimbursement - Review, prepare, and consolidate project finance reports including Budget Forecasts and Cash Flow projections - Examine project closeout documentation for completeness and accuracy - Support the preparation of financial reports intended for stakeholder presentations - Assist in coordinating activities between accounting and finance teams on financial matters - Participate in internal and external audit processes as required - Handle ad hoc financial projects as they arise Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in accounting or project finance - Detail-oriented professional with a practical and flexible working attitude - Proven ability to work under strict deadlines as part of a collaborative team - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with finance and accounting software systems - Experience working in a multi-office, multi-cultural, or multi-regulatory project environment - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Why Join Us With over a century of engineering excellence and a global workforce of more than 30,000 professionals across 54 countries, McDermott International offers a truly inspiring environment where your expertise drives real-world energy solutions.
