Senior Engineer II - Manufacturing Design (Foundry Pattern and Core Box)

Role Overview Hubbell Incorporated is hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with deep expertise in foundry pattern and core box design for both ferrous and non-ferrous casting applications. This is a full-time opportunity based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, ideal for professionals who combine strong CAD proficiency with hands-on foundry process knowledge. The role demands a results-oriented engineer who can lead tool design projects from concept to completion while collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities - Create detailed part drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5M 1994 standards and deliver projects within defined timelines - Design and optimize gating and riser systems based on casting simulation results using tools such as Magma or Flow 3D - Interact directly with customers to understand functional specifications and translate requirements into precise tool designs - Apply GD&T principles across both design and manufacturing drawings with high accuracy - Troubleshoot sand casting tools to resolve quality issues and improve production outcomes - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management - Maintain and update applicable project reports and documentation in a timely manner Required Qualifications - Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in foundry pattern design including ferrous and non-ferrous castings and core box design - Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD for part modelling and detailed drawing creation - Working knowledge of mold flow and casting simulation software such as Magma or Flow 3D Cast - Solid understanding of casting processes including high pressure molding and jolt line operations - Strong command of GD&T standards and casting design for manufacturability - Good mathematical reasoning ability along with effective written and verbal communication skills - Basic electrical knowledge is an added advantage Why Join Us Hubbell Incorporated is a globally recognized manufacturer of high quality electrical and utility infrastructure solutions with a legacy dating back to 1888, and the Chennai team plays a key role in driving engineering innovation across its global business units.
