Job Description

Role Overview Shell Downstream is in the midst of a significant transformation, evolving its business to deliver resilient cash flow while advancing its energy transition strategy. As the RA PAR and Controller Lead, you will head a team of up to 10 finance professionals, providing end-to-end reporting and accounting support for the Downstream business portfolio. This is a senior leadership role that combines controllership, financial reporting, planning and appraisal responsibilities, and cross-functional stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage a team of finance professionals delivering complete and accurate Group Financial Returns and Local Statutory submissions for the Downstream portfolio - Own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, ensuring first-time-right submissions and quality financial insights - Drive planning, forecasting, and Planning and Appraisal processes for businesses in scope - Serve as the key interface between Finance Operations and Business Finance leaders, DS Leadership, and senior stakeholders - Resolve reporting issues and provide clear financial guidance to stakeholders across the organisation - Ensure effectiveness of the financial control framework and support internal audits, controls reviews, and remediation activities - Prepare and deliver insightful management information packs, performance overviews, and ad-hoc leadership analysis - Support the annual Business Plan preparation and quarterly latest estimates process - Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support new systems implementation in the PAR and controllership space - Build team capability through coaching, effective workload assignment, and a focus on sustainable high performance Required Qualifications - Accounting qualification with 10 or more years of experience in financial reporting - University degree in a finance-related discipline; professional qualification such as CIMA or MBA preferred - Proven experience leading finance or project teams with strong people management skills - Strong business partnering and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence at all levels - Experience working in dynamic or high-change environments and managing conflicting priorities - Deep understanding of financial and management reporting, value drivers, and performance metrics - Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills - Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high accuracy Why Join Us At Shell, you will work alongside talented professionals on one of the most critical challenges of our time, the global energy transition, with access to diverse career paths, world-class training, and a values-led culture that champions inclusion, respect, and continuous growth. Requirements

- Accounting qualification with 10+ years of financial reporting experience - Degree in finance; CIMA or MBA certification preferred - Demonstrated experience in leading finance teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships - Strong knowledge of Group Financial Reporting, Local Statutory requirements, and PAR processes - Proficiency in planning, forecasting, and management information reporting - Experience working in a matrix organisation across FO, CoE, and business teams - Excellent communication, presentation, and people management skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines with high accuracy - Continuous improvement mindset with experience supporting systems implementations
