Project Engineering Manager - Substation (PEM)

Role Overview Live Connections is hiring a seasoned Project Engineering Manager specialising in Substation engineering for large-scale GIS and AIS Substation projects up to 765kV. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep expertise in substation design, EPC project execution, and cross-functional team coordination across locations including Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Faridabad. The ideal candidate will hold a B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 15 or more years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities - Manage end-to-end engineering activities ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality benchmarks, and cost targets - Coordinate with project planning teams to ensure timely delivery of all engineering outputs - Review and approve engineering drawings, design calculations, and technical documentation - Lead technical discussions with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders - Oversee Primary Design, Secondary Design, Earthing, Cabling, SCADA, and Protection Systems - Coordinate vendor engineering, manufacturing interfaces, and material delivery schedules - Guide, mentor, and manage design teams for optimum productivity and resource utilisation - Conduct engineering review meetings and provide regular project progress updates - Ensure full compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements Required Qualifications - B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Minimum 15 years of experience in substation and EPC project engineering - Proven expertise in GIS and AIS Substation Design up to 765kV - Hands-on experience with SCADA, Protection Systems, Earthing, and Cabling Design - Proficiency in project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera - Prior experience leading engineering teams in a multi-project EPC environment - Experience in Oil and Gas or Hydrocarbon projects is an added advantage for the Oil and Gas role Why Join Us Live Connections offers a platform to work on high-impact, large-scale infrastructure and energy projects with cross-industry exposure across Power and Oil and Gas sectors.
