Job Description

Role Overview Barclays is looking for a seasoned Middle Office professional to join as an Assistant Vice President at its Chennai operations. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the first line of defense for trade integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience across all derivative products. You will own the strategic oversight of trade and position reconciliations and partner closely with Front Office, Technology, and Infrastructure teams to deliver accurate and timely execution. Key Responsibilities - Support Front Office teams through accurate and timely trade processing to enable business growth and strengthen client confidence - Own and deliver the strategic roadmap including process re-engineering and efficiency initiatives aligned to GMO objectives - Monitor Trade and Working Capital operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards - Drive process simplification through consolidation, removal of duplication, and optimal workflow design - Develop and implement Trade and Working Capital procedures and controls to mitigate operational risks - Lead complex data analysis from multiple internal and external sources to solve operational challenges creatively - Prepare reports and presentations on Trade and Working Capital performance for senior internal stakeholders - Identify industry trends and apply best practices to continuously improve middle office operations - Manage reconciliation workflows using both automated and manual reconciliation tools - Own audit processes, RCSAs, and remediation plans as part of the risk and governance framework - Coach and appraise team members, setting clear objectives in line with organisational goals - Collaborate across business divisions to align Trade and Working Capital processes enterprise-wide Required Qualifications - Extensive experience in Investment Banking Operations with strong exposure to Derivative Middle Office or Trade Control functions - Proven expertise in trade lifecycle management, position management, balance sheet account substantiation, and exception resolution - Strong risk and control mindset with hands-on experience managing audits and RCSA frameworks - Solid understanding of derivative products across asset classes including Rates, Equities, Structured, and Exotic products - Prior experience in Middle Office Operations, Sales Support, or Product Control - Track record of driving automation and strategic change in complex operational environments - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills - Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding teams through structured and complex assignments Why Join Us Barclays offers a collaborative and empowering work culture guided by its core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship. Requirements

- Extensive experience in Investment Banking Operations and Derivative Middle Office - Expertise in trade lifecycle management and position reconciliations - Strong knowledge of derivative products across Rates, Equities, Structured, and Exotic asset classes - Experience managing reconciliation tools with automated and manual workflows - Proven track record in RCSA, audit, and control governance frameworks - Experience driving process automation and strategic operational change - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - Leadership experience with ability to coach and develop team members - Risk and control mindset with ownership of remediation plans
