Assistant Manager - RFT Data Operations

Role Overview Barclays is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join its RFT Data Operations team at the Chennai office. In this role, you will gather, analyse, and present risk data to stakeholders across the organisation, enabling informed decision-making, effective risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key part in driving innovation in data reporting while ensuring alignment with Basel IV regulatory requirements and internal governance standards. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a broad range of risk reports covering credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk, as well as regulatory reporting requirements - Extract and process risk data from internal systems, risk models, and external market data feeds to ensure accuracy and completeness - Analyse risk data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and evaluate the impact of various risk exposures on the business - Monitor key risk indicators and metrics to detect emerging risks and measure the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies - Drive risk reporting improvements and lead automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency - Lead and support a team by allocating responsibilities, guiding professional development, and coordinating resources effectively - Partner with cross-functional teams and business areas to embed new policies and strengthen internal controls - Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately and take ownership of risk management within your area of responsibility Required Qualifications - Strong knowledge of Basel IV regulatory requirements and regulatory reporting processes - Experience in reconciliation and sound understanding of accounting for complex banking transactions, including P&L and balance sheet representation - Solid knowledge of investment banking and corporate banking products, along with accounting and netting logic applied in BFSI - Expert-level ability to analyse poor-quality data, understand data lineage, and resolve data integrity issues - Hands-on experience reviewing and posting accounting entries for complex derivative trade structures - Proficiency in SQL, Excel Macros, and experience preparing Business Requirement Documents for technology projects - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail - Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding and supervising teams Why Join Us Barclays offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where you are empowered to drive meaningful change and develop your expertise in risk data operations.
