Manager - People Generalist (Chennai Global Logistics Park)

Role Overview DP World is looking for an experienced Manager - People Generalist to be based at its Chennai Global Logistics Park. This is a mid-senior level, full-time role that partners with the Head of HR to drive end-to-end people operations across a large logistics and warehousing environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in statutory compliance, talent management, employee engagement, and HR operations, with a strong preference for professionals who have set up HR functions in Greenfield or Brownfield projects. Key Responsibilities - Ensure end-to-end statutory compliance under BOCW Act, Shops and Establishments Act, CLRA, PF, ESI, Bonus, Minimum Wages Act, and all applicable labour laws - Manage manpower planning, diversity hiring strategies, recruitment SOP adherence, and onboarding documentation in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team - Oversee payroll processing timelines, validate employee masters, coordinate with SSC HR and Zing HR teams, and monitor reimbursements and entitlements - Drive Performance Management cycles including KPI setting, mid-term and year-end reviews, PIP processes, and linkage of appraisals to training and career development needs - Implement Rewards and Recognition programs, employee wellness initiatives, and coordinate engagement surveys such as Great Place to Work - Manage vendor compliance through Simpliance portals, conduct contractor audits, and ensure all vendors meet statutory and contractual obligations - Prepare and manage HR and Admin budgets, support internal and external audit readiness, and monitor cost optimisation across HR and facility administration - Coordinate Learning and Development programs, deploy multi-skilling initiatives for warehouse and logistics teams, and partner with technical institutes for skill development - Prepare HR MIS reports for HOD, BU Head, and Regional Office, and maintain all HR documentation and SOPs - Lead CSR and sustainability activities as per Schedule VII, manage employee grievance redressal, and ensure Health, Safety, and Environment policies are observed - Oversee facility management including housekeeping, transport administration, vehicle logs, office supplies inventory, and infrastructure coordination Required Qualifications - MSW in HR or MBA in HR from a reputed institution with strong exposure to labour laws, industrial relations, and HR systems - Minimum 14 years of overall HR experience with at least 2 to 3 years in manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics industry environments - Demonstrated expertise in setting up HR operations for Greenfield or Brownfield projects is highly preferred - Proficiency in MS Office and HR management systems including Zing HR and Simpliance - Strong competencies in statutory compliance, stakeholder management, data-driven decision making, and strategic HR execution - High integrity, empathy, and a people-centric approach with excellent communication and facilitation skills Why Join Us DP World is a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, offering professionals a dynamic environment to lead impactful HR functions at scale.
