Strategic Resource Manager

Role Overview IQVIA is looking for an experienced and strategic Resource Manager to lead talent deployment across its Forecasting Centre of Excellence in India and Commercial Outsourced Services. This role is responsible for converting business strategy, sales pipeline data, and client demand into actionable workforce plans. You will balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term capability building, ensuring the right talent is placed on the right engagements at the right cost to drive sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities - Own end-to-end resource deployment across client delivery, business development, and internal strategic initiatives - Translate regional business strategy and demand forecasts into forward-looking workforce and capacity plans - Make strategic trade-offs when demand exceeds supply, prioritizing based on commercial value and client impact - Ensure optimal staffing mix in terms of skills, grade, and cost aligned to delivery outcomes and profitability targets - Actively manage and optimize utilization, realization, and margin performance across assigned teams - Partner with finance and leadership to interpret workforce data and provide insight into revenue, cost, and capacity dynamics - Maintain a strategic view of consultant skills, career aspirations, and development pathways - Surface recurring capability gaps and inform hiring, reskilling, and learning investment decisions - Own the integrity and strategic use of resource, capacity, and utilization data across workforce planning systems - Establish consistent forecasting, reporting, and governance rhythms to support leadership decision-making - Onboard new consultants and educate them on working effectively within the Resource Management framework Required Qualifications - 5 or more years of experience in resource management, workforce planning, staffing, or deployment within a professional services or consulting environment - Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels, translating business goals into workforce outcomes - Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of utilization, margin, and delivery economics - Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex, ambiguous decision-making situations - Advanced analytical capability with experience using workforce and financial data to drive insight and action - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Knowledge of professional services business models including billable hours, project delivery cycles, and quarterly reporting Why Join Us IQVIA is a global leader in clinical research services, commercial insights, and healthcare intelligence, helping accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative medical treatments worldwide. - 5+ years in resource management or workforce planning in professional services or consulting - Experience translating business strategy into workforce and capacity plans - Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of utilization and margin economics - Ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex environments - Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills - Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal - Understanding of consulting business cycles including billable hours and project delivery
