Manager - General Ledger Accounting

Role Overview Saint-Gobain Group in India is looking for an experienced and results-driven Manager in General Ledger Accounting to lead and oversee its core accounting operations from its Chennai office. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity suited for a finance professional who thrives in a structured environment and has a strong command of financial reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities - Lead and supervise the general ledger accounting team on a day-to-day basis - Drive timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes - Review and prepare journal entries along with detailed account reconciliations - Serve as the primary point of coordination with both internal and external auditors during financial audits - Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures for compliance and efficiency - Analyse financial data and present clear, accurate financial reports to stakeholders - Strengthen and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure regulatory adherence - Mentor, train, and support team members to foster their professional growth and capability Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline - CPA certification is preferred and will be considered an advantage - Demonstrated experience in general ledger accounting at a managerial or senior level - Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations - Proven track record of managing and leading an accounting team - Proficiency in accounting software platforms and advanced MS Excel skills - Excellent verbal and written communication along with strong interpersonal abilities - Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and consistently meet strict deadlines Why Join Us Saint-Gobain Group is a globally recognised leader with a strong legacy of innovation and operational integrity, offering a dynamic work environment where your expertise will directly shape the financial health of the organisation.
