Role Overview
Flex is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Engineer specialising in Engineering Change Management to join its high-performing production engineering team in Chennai. This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals with a background in Electronics and Electrical Engineering who are eager to build expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) management within a global manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and managing part numbers and Bills of Materials (BOM) within the Agile and Baan PLM systems. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining the Approved Vendor List (AVL), downloading and releasing customer product specifications via CDC, and serving as a Change Analyst during NPI phases for new product rollouts. The engineer will manage and track Engineering Change Orders across multiple global manufacturing sites, coordinating creation, review, routing, release, and distribution through the Agile PLM platform. Close collaboration with Process and Product Engineering teams to study ECO documents and drawings is essential, as is working alongside Engineering and Materials teams to evaluate product modifications. The role also involves responding to internal business partners and external customers on ECO-related queries while ensuring all process metric targets are consistently met.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with up to 2 years of relevant experience as an NPI or ECO Engineer in a manufacturing setup, preferably within the EMS industry. Proficiency in PLM software such as Agile or Baan is required, along with hands-on knowledge of NPI, ECO management, and BOM management. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Outlook is expected, along with solid analytical, mentoring, and conflict resolution abilities.

Requirements
B.E. degree in EEE or ECE from a recognised university
0 to 2 years of experience as an NPI or ECO Engineer in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry is preferred
Hands-on working knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
Experience with Engineering Change Order (ECO) creation, tracking, and management
Proficiency in BOM (Bill of Materials) management
Practical experience with PLM software such as Agile or Baan
Strong written and spoken English communication skills (mandatory)
Proficiency in MS Office applications and MS Outlook
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to mentor team members and handle conflict resolution
Willingness to work in a night shift environment
