Engineering Associate

Role Overview Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is looking for a dedicated Engineering Associate to join our facilities and maintenance team at our Chennai property located on ECR, Vedanamelli. This is a full-time, on-site role suited for a candidate with at least 2 years of relevant experience in engineering or facilities maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth hotel operations by coordinating maintenance activities and upholding the highest standards of safety and guest service. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate with other departments using telecommunications devices to respond to maintenance requests and resolve facility issues in a timely manner - Place rooms requiring maintenance out of order and schedule major system shutdowns or repairs in coordination with relevant teams - Maintain purchase order logs, file paid purchase orders, and verify that orders match packing slips - Follow all company safety and security policies, report hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete required safety training and certifications - Store flammable materials properly and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards - Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery for safe and proper functioning - Welcome guests professionally, anticipate their service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities as needed - Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work-related information - Prepare and review written documents accurately and communicate clearly with colleagues and guests - Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors Required Qualifications - High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent - Minimum 2 years of related work experience in engineering or facilities maintenance - No supervisory experience required - No specific license or certification required - Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments - Professional appearance and conduct at all times Why Join Us As part of the globally recognised Sheraton family and Marriott International portfolio, you will join a diverse and welcoming community that has been bringing people together since 1937.
