Role Overview
Standard Chartered India is seeking an experienced Director for Affluent Relations to lead and grow the affluent customer portfolio at its Chennai branch. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving revenue through high-quality customer service, cross-selling banking and wealth management products, and ensuring full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in retail banking sales, team leadership, and profit centre management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize sales performance to achieve revenue targets through liability products such as CASA and term deposits, wealth management offerings, and secured or unsecured asset products
- Generate new business through sales promotions, out-marketing calls, in-branch customer interactions, and branch sales planning
- Lead and mentor branch network staff, drive performance culture, manage succession planning, and ensure high employee engagement and retention
- Monitor customer satisfaction scores and net promoter scores, and implement continuous service improvement measures
- Ensure full compliance with KYC, CDD, EDD, AML guidelines, ORMA policies, Group Code of Conduct, and all applicable banking regulations
- Oversee operational efficiency, general reconciliation, cost control, and ensure satisfactory ratings in all internal and external audits
- Implement segment and product initiatives across PRB, Premium, Personal, and SME customer segments in collaboration with branch managers
- Manage premises upkeep, merchandising, housekeeping, and health and safety responsibilities for the branch
Required Qualifications
- Preferably a Master's Degree in any discipline; additional banking certifications are an advantage
- Demonstrated experience managing sizeable profit centres and distribution networks with full accountability for strategy, costs, and revenue
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products including CASA, loans, deposits, insurance, and investment products
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in banking software applications and CEMS systems
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leadership

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products including CASA, loans, deposits, insurance, and investments
- Proven experience managing profit centres and distribution networks
- Wealth management knowledge and customer relationship handling skills

- Proficiency in banking software applications and CEMS systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
