BIM Designer - Wet Utilities

Role Overview Egis is a globally recognised engineering and infrastructure consulting firm operating across 100 countries, and we are looking for an experienced BIM Designer specialising in Wet Utilities and Drainage to join our Chennai team. You will be instrumental in creating and managing Civil 3D BIM models and design drawings for large-scale infrastructure projects. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity that offers exposure to complex international infrastructure work, particularly within the Middle East region. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for infrastructure projects using Autodesk Civil 3D, handling both gravity and pressure pipe networks for wet utilities deliverables - Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate various design elements into cohesive and coordinated BIM models - Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts within the BIM environment to ensure accuracy and quality - Generate precise quantity take-offs and cost estimates directly from BIM models - Ensure all BIM models comply with project requirements, applicable standards, and industry best practices - Assist in the development and implementation of BIM workflows, protocols, and organisational standards - Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members on BIM-related processes and tools - Stay current with emerging BIM technologies, software updates, and evolving industry trends Required Qualifications - Bachelor degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in BIM for wet utilities or drainage infrastructure projects - Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Revit - Solid 3D modelling and visualisation capabilities with attention to detail - Good understanding of infrastructure design principles and construction methodologies - Familiarity with CAD software and ability to interpret and work with 2D drawings - BIM certification such as Autodesk certification is preferred - Prior experience working on infrastructure projects in the Middle East region is an added advantage Why Join Us Egis is consistently ranked among the top ten engineering firms in the Middle East by Engineering News Record and offers its professionals the opportunity to work on landmark infrastructure projects that shape communities worldwide.
