Associate - Settlement and Collateral - Market and Financial Services

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is looking for an Associate to join the Market and Financial Services business line at its Chennai office. This role is focused on Collateral Processing under the Agency Lending function and involves handling daily settlement operations, exposure monitoring, and margin management. The selected candidate will collaborate with offshore management, internal teams, agents, and external stakeholders while reporting to the Assistant Manager in Chennai. Key Responsibilities - Get trained in Agency Lending operations and perform daily collateral processing tasks - Monitor client fund exposures throughout the day and manage daily margin calls with brokers and triparty agents - Ensure all loans booked by the Front Desk and collateral trades are settled within the prescribed settlement cycle - Send billing invoices and perform reconciliation to resolve discrepancies within the defined SLA - Prepare and deliver accurate client and management reports within deadlines - Escalate processing exceptions as per internal control and external client requirements - Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures in the global portal before expiry - Assist in onboarding new clients by documenting service details, exceptions, static data, and contact information - Support training of new team members with structured plans based on their experience and designation - Contribute to Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly MIS analysis and presentations Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Commerce or an equivalent discipline - Functional understanding of OTC derivative business and basic knowledge of Agency Lending products - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong MS Excel skills including macros and model building - Working knowledge of Bloomberg or Refinitiv for data retrieval and analytics - Familiarity with introductory Python or VBA for task automation - Basic SQL skills for simple data extraction - Understanding of accounting, financial statement analysis, and regulatory frameworks - Strong sense of accountability, critical thinking, and ability to meet strict deadlines Why Join Us BNP Paribas is the European Union's leading bank operating in 65 countries with nearly 185,000 employees worldwide, offering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every employee is valued.
