Associate - Loan Operations

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Europe's largest banks, is looking for an Associate in Loan Operations to join its Credit Operations department in Chennai. This role sits within the Loan Service Middle Office team and involves managing the complete lifecycle of corporate loans from drawdown to closure. The position demands a detail-oriented professional who can work across multiple stakeholders and uphold the bank's internal control standards. Key Responsibilities - Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of corporate loans including vanilla loans, syndicated loans, and bilateral structured loans - Perform pre-booking controls such as limit checks and callbacks in line with established operational procedures - Coordinate with the Treasury team to ensure proper funding of client requests before actual drawdown - Update and manage loan events in the bank's internal systems based on client instructions - Handle post-booking activities including fee management, invoicing, and follow-up - Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to address and resolve abnormal events or exceptions - Support the loan provisioning reporting process in coordination with Finance and front office teams - Ensure operating procedures are regularly reviewed, updated, and compliant with internal controls - Contribute to change management initiatives including regulatory and internal projects - Assist during internal and external audit missions as required Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in loan operations or credit operations - Diploma or degree qualification in a relevant field - Good working knowledge of loan products and associated business lines - Basic understanding of accounting principles - Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word - Strong oral and written communication skills for engaging with business lines, back office, and external parties - Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively - Meticulous, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment Why Join Us BNP Paribas offers a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees are valued and empowered to grow within a globally respected financial institution.
