Assistant Manager - RFT Data Operations

Role Overview Barclays is looking for an Assistant Manager in RFT Data Operations to join its Chennai office. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and presenting risk data to key stakeholders across the organisation, enabling informed decision-making, effective risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. You will play a central part in driving data quality improvements and supporting the bank's regulatory reporting framework. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a range of risk reports covering credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk, as well as regulatory submissions - Extract risk data from internal systems, risk models, and external market data sources for analysis and reporting - Analyse risk data to identify trends, patterns, and outliers and evaluate the impact of risk exposures on the organisation - Monitor key risk indicators and metrics to detect emerging risks and measure the effectiveness of mitigation strategies - Lead and implement risk reporting improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy - Guide and supervise team members, supporting their professional development and coordinating workload distribution - Partner with cross-functional teams and act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside the immediate function - Ensure all work is delivered in line with applicable rules, regulations, and codes of conduct Required Qualifications - Strong understanding of Basel IV regulatory requirements and changes - Experience in regulatory reporting and risk data analysis - Sound accounting knowledge including reconciliation, P&L, and balance sheet representation in banking - Knowledge of investment banking and corporate banking products, including accounting and netting logic in BFSI - Expert-level ability to analyse poor quality data and trace data lineage - Hands-on experience reviewing and posting accounting entries for complex derivative trade structures - Proficiency in SQL, Macros, and preparing Business Requirement Documents for projects - Strong risk and controls awareness with a focus on continuous improvement and change management Why Join Us Barclays offers a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment where innovation, integrity, and professional development are at the core.
