Job Description

Role Overview Saint-Gobain Group in India is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to lead Plant HR, Industrial Relations, and Administration operations at their Chennai facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in managing end-to-end plant HR functions with a solid understanding of statutory compliance and labour regulations. This is a mid-senior level role that demands both strategic thinking and operational execution at the plant level. Key Responsibilities - Manage all plant-level HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives - Handle Industrial Relations activities and maintain harmonious shop-floor relations - Liaise with statutory authorities including the Inspector of Factories, Labour Department, and Health Department - Oversee contract labour management in compliance with applicable laws and regulations - Drive Learning and Development programmes as well as succession planning for plant staff - Coordinate and execute Corporate Social Responsibility activities for the site Required Qualifications - Graduate or postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related discipline - Proven experience in plant HR and IR roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment - Working knowledge of the Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, and other applicable labour legislation - Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills - Ability to handle government inspections and departmental audits independently Why Join Us Saint-Gobain is a globally respected leader in sustainable construction and high-performance materials, offering employees a structured career path and an inclusive work culture.
