Assistant Manager - Fund Accounting (Individual Contributor Role)

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for its Fund Accounting team in Chennai. This is an individual contributor role focused on daily NAV production and review, requiring deep subject matter expertise in fund accounting operations, NAV lifecycle management, and SLA-driven delivery across a wide range of fund types and instruments. Key Responsibilities - Serve as Subject Matter Expert for NAV calculation, processing, and review across diverse fund structures and instrument types - Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Daily Net Asset Values for mutual funds in compliance with SLA commitments - Perform and validate reconciliation breaks across Transfer Agency, Cash, and Stock positions for each calculated NAV - Review and ensure completeness of NAV packs including report generation, timely delivery, scanning, and archiving - Prepare, maintain, and regularly update Key and Standard Operating Procedures for all relevant processes - Enforce 100 percent compliance with ISAE 3402 standards and conduct daily sample testing with documented results - Identify manual steps and process inefficiencies and propose practical automation improvements - Monitor group mailboxes, respond promptly to client and stakeholder queries, and escalate issues to AVPs proactively - Support training and knowledge development of maker-level team members and ensure backup coverage is in place - Maintain an incident tracker registering all internal findings identified during NAV checking - Participate in daily team huddles and weekly meetings and contribute to CSR and engagement initiatives Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or an equivalent discipline - Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in fund accounting with strong NAV lifecycle knowledge - Familiarity with fund accounting concepts such as unit pricing, incentive and performance fees, swing pricing, hedging, and various fund structures - Proficiency in systems such as Multifonds, HI-Portfolio, and Bloomberg is an advantage - Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel - Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and capacity to multitask and prioritize under deadline pressure - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders - Exposure to AI tools for productivity enhancement is a plus - High standard of compliance awareness and professional conduct Why Join Us BNP Paribas is the European Union's leading bank with operations across 65 countries and a workforce of nearly 185,000 employees globally.
