Assistant Lead Illustrator - IPC Technical Illustration

Role Overview Vestas, the global leader in wind energy solutions, is looking for an Assistant Lead Illustrator specialising in IPC Technical Illustration to join their Transport Documentation and SBoM Readiness team in Chennai. In this mid-senior role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation packages that support internal stakeholders and global customers across onshore and offshore wind turbine projects. You will work at the intersection of technical knowledge and creative illustration, contributing to one of the world's most impactful clean energy businesses. Key Responsibilities - Create and update technical parts illustrations for new product introductions, upgrades, and revisions - Plan and execute Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC) for new Mk upgrade projects - Collaborate with the Spare Parts team to track and align SBOM availability with illustration requirements - Coordinate with Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts to deliver projects on schedule - Reduce review comments and feedback cycles by maintaining high illustration quality from the outset - Ensure all printed illustrations meet defined quality and colour standards - Support continuous process improvements related to illustration quality and turnaround time - Manage end-to-end project execution with minimal supervision across cross-functional and global stakeholder groups Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related specialisation - Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in technical illustration for industrial or engineering products - Proficiency in Creo Illustrate along with strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator - Familiarity with PDMLink, Arbortext, Windchill, and Service Information Manager - Prior experience in technical or parts illustration within wind energy, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors - Strong project planning, stakeholder management, and communication skills - Ability to work in a structured manner with close attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Why Join Us At Vestas, you become part of a globally represented yet closely collaborative team where team spirit, shared purpose, and a commitment to sustainability drive everything we do. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or similar - 6 to 8 years of technical illustration experience for industrial products - Proficiency in Creo Illustrate, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator - Knowledge of Arbortext, Windchill, PDMLink, and Service Information Manager - Experience in parts illustration for wind, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial domains - Strong project planning and end-to-end project execution skills - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - Ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in team settings - High attention to detail and structured approach to complex requirements - Parts Authoring experience is an added advantage - 3D modelling knowledge is a plus but not mandatory
