Analysis Engineer - Automotive NVH and Structural CAE

Role Overview Actalent is looking for an Analysis Engineer to join its Chennai delivery centre and contribute to cutting-edge automotive virtual validation projects. In this role you will develop and analyse complex automotive assemblies and system models with a strong focus on NVH and structural performance. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment using industry-standard CAE tools to deliver production-ready simulation models. Key Responsibilities - Build detailed automotive assemblies for trim body and powertrain applications including BIW, closures, instrument panel, seating, engine, exhaust, driveline, and transmission subsystems - Create accurate 2D and 3D models complete with all necessary connections to support simulation and analysis workflows - Perform modal analysis using Nastran and Optistruct with solution types such as SOL 103 and SOL 111 - Debug complex CAE models to identify and resolve issues, ensuring all models are stable, consistent, and fully runnable - Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to interpret analysis results and support design decisions - Document modelling approaches, analysis setups, and results clearly in technical reports and review presentations - Communicate technical insights and recommendations effectively to stakeholders in both verbal and written form Required Qualifications - Proven experience building automotive assemblies including trim body and powertrain systems - Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D modelling and the creation and management of model connections - Practical experience performing modal analysis using Nastran and Optistruct including SOL 103 and SOL 111 - Proficiency with Hypermesh for pre-processing and model setup - Proficiency with ANSA for model preparation and management - Hands-on experience with NVH and structural analysis in an automotive engineering context - Good verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions and documentation - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail Why Join Us Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services with over 40 years of experience helping visionary companies achieve their goals, and its Chennai delivery centre is a recognised hub of mechanical and automotive engineering expertise.
