Specialist - Service Engineering (Technical Writer)

Role Overview Nordex Group is seeking a skilled Service Engineering Specialist with a strong background in technical writing to join their Chennai team. In this role, you will be responsible for converting complex engineering instructions into clear, structured service documentation for use across global service operations. You will play a key part in ensuring that retrofit and service procedures are accurately documented and aligned with industry standards. Key Responsibilities - Convert retrofit instructions from Central Engineering such as Technical Notifications into Service Notifications and other relevant service documentation formats - Develop and maintain retrofit documentation including Technical Information sheets, Knowledge Articles, and additional service-related materials - Collaborate with Service Engineers and Retrofit Managers to gather accurate technical data and validate retrofit procedures - Participate in technical review meetings to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and fit for purpose - Ensure all documentation meets internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices - Manage version control and maintain documentation integrity across various platforms and tools - Identify and implement improvements to documentation workflows, processes, and tools - Stay informed about updates in retrofit procedures and advancements in wind turbine technologies Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related discipline - Minimum 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within the energy or industrial equipment sector - Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally wind turbines or comparable machinery - Proficiency in documentation tools such as XML editors, CMS platforms, Adobe FrameMaker, and MS Office - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English - Ability to interpret complex technical information and present it in clear, structured formats - Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards applicable to industrial environments - Prior experience in retrofit or upgrade documentation is an advantage - Knowledge of service operations and product lifecycle management Why Join Us Nordex Group is a globally recognised leader in wind energy solutions committed to equal opportunity and inclusive work culture.
