Senior Project Engineer - Primary (OPC)

Role Overview Linxon, a joint venture combining AtkinsRéalis project management expertise and Hitachi Energy's deep technological knowledge, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for its OPC group at the GETS-Chennai Engineering Team. This role is central to delivering high-quality engineering solutions across international transmission and distribution substation projects. The position demands a seasoned professional capable of contributing to multiple projects of moderate to large scale while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities - Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to execute project assignments effectively - Develop tender engineering deliverables within tight timelines while ensuring completeness and accuracy of assigned packages - Ensure all inter-discipline checks are conducted and outcomes are documented in project-specific storage areas - Coordinate technical clarifications with engineers, sub-contractors, and suppliers within the assigned scope of work - Report and maintain records for all engineering changes and communicate their project-specific impacts to the team - Ensure compliance with Linxon and client engineering guidelines, standards, and quality requirements throughout the engineering process - Contribute to the project risk and opportunity register by communicating relevant observations - Provide technical support during installation and commissioning activities and collaborate with site teams when required - Prepare project documentation within the scope of deliverables and create work plans and cost estimates Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering - 10 to 14 years of experience in substation design with a focus on HV equipment and overall system design - Sound knowledge of AIS and GIS transmission and distribution substation engineering up to 500kV - Knowledge of BESS projects is an added advantage - Familiarity with ANSI and IEEE standards is preferred - Working knowledge of NESC, NFPA 70, NFPA 780, and NFPA 850 standards for substation engineering is desirable Why Join Us Linxon offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company working at the forefront of global substation EPC projects, combining world-class power technologies with exceptional infrastructure project management.
