Senior Clinical System Lead

Role Overview ICON plc is a globally recognised healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation seeking an experienced Senior Clinical System Lead to join their team in Chennai. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of clinical systems that power efficient and compliant clinical trials. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality system solutions that align with regulatory standards and business objectives. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, and implementation of clinical systems ensuring they meet all functional and regulatory requirements - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define system needs, establish specifications, and deliver solutions that improve clinical trial management and data analysis - Oversee the integration of clinical systems with other technologies and data sources to maintain seamless operations and data consistency - Provide strategic guidance on system enhancements, resolve complex technical issues, and drive continuous improvements in system performance - Manage relationships with system vendors and key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of system updates and alignment with clinical research goals - Support day-to-day scientific operations and guide team members to achieve quality outcomes Required Qualifications - Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management and/or system design - Demonstrated client-facing experience with strong stakeholder management capabilities - Ability to interpret clinical protocols and understand clinical trial processes - Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects - Proficiency in relevant programming languages, development tools, and system integration practices - Exposure to Medidata Rave and Veeva is a distinct advantage - Willingness to work in the 2 PM to 11 PM shift and travel as required (approximately 15%) Why Join Us ICON plc offers a competitive compensation package alongside a comprehensive range of benefits focused on employee well-being, work-life balance, health insurance, retirement planning, and global employee assistance support.
