Senior Analyst - Medical Analytics

Role Overview AstraZeneca is looking for a Senior Analyst in Medical Analytics to join its Chennai team. This role sits at the intersection of performance analytics and strategic intelligence, enabling Medical leaders and field teams to make faster, better-informed decisions. You will transform complex engagement and evidence data into clear guidance that shapes resource allocation, content strategy, and measurable patient impact across multiple therapy areas and tumor types. Key Responsibilities - Synthesize complex datasets into actionable insights that inform Medical planning, resource allocation, and engagement strategy across regions and therapeutic areas - Design and implement measurement frameworks that go beyond activity counts to evaluate engagement quality, content resonance, channel effectiveness, and strategic outcomes - Quantify the impact of Medical initiatives by linking activities to outcomes and identifying performance patterns across territories and customer segments - Translate stakeholder requirements into precise analytical specifications and propose practical alternatives when requirements are unclear or unmeasurable - Produce quarterly business reviews highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities with clear, decision-ready recommendations - Partner with Commercial Analytics, Clinical Development, and AI/ML teams to align measurement approaches and leverage enterprise data assets - Evaluate and champion emerging analytics technologies and automation opportunities that improve efficiency and accelerate insight generation - Validate data sources, identify anomalies, and promote data quality standards that build trust in metrics Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Life Sciences, Business Analytics, or Computer Science - 6 to 8 years of analytical experience with a proven ability to convert business questions into structured analytical frameworks - Demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector with exposure to Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, or Clinical Development - Track record of delivering strategic insights that have directly influenced business decisions and resource allocation - Experience working in matrix organisations requiring influence without formal authority and strong cross-functional collaboration - Advanced data manipulation skills using modern analytical tools and the ability to query and integrate multiple data sources - Proficiency with self-service BI platforms and statistical literacy to design robust measures and interpret results - Strong executive-ready communication skills with the ability to connect data to strategic implications in written and verbal formats - Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted analysis, pattern recognition, or automation; Python or R scripting is an advantage Why Join Us At AstraZeneca you will work alongside curious, kind, and ambitious colleagues in a global mission-led organisation where data and digital capabilities power every function.
