Resident Engineer

Role Overview Aptiv is looking for a skilled Resident Engineer to represent the company at customer locations and serve as the primary technical liaison between Aptiv and its automotive customers. This is a high-impact role ideal for professionals with a background in resident engineering, systems engineering, or vehicle testing who want to work at the forefront of automotive safety and connectivity technology. You will help shape the future of mobility by enabling seamless communication between customer engineering teams and Aptiv's internal development group. Key Responsibilities - Serve as Aptiv's on-site representative and first point of contact for customer engineering teams - Coordinate requirement elicitation, clarification, system testing, and issue triaging at the customer site - Act as the interface between the customer and Aptiv's internal development team - Gather milestone plans, contact information, prototype requirements, and other critical project data - Facilitate access to customer-specific tools and information systems - Support the team in submitting data to customer-specific reporting and documentation systems - Stay current with industry trends and emerging automotive technologies Required Qualifications - B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech in any engineering specialisation - 7 to 12 years of overall experience in resident engineering, systems engineering, or vehicle testing - Product domain knowledge in User Experience or ADAS solutions - Hands-on experience with logging and debugging tools - Proficiency in requirement management tools such as Polarion or DOORS - Familiarity with workflow and project tracking tools like Jira - Strong understanding of automotive electronic systems, vehicle architectures, and EMI/EMC issues - Excellent communication skills with a proactive, results-driven approach Why Join Us Aptiv offers a collaborative and inclusive work environment where engineers can grow, make a meaningful impact on road safety, and build careers aligned with a mission to achieve zero accidents and zero fatalities.
