Payments Team Lead - Accounts Services India

Role Overview Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced Payments Team Lead to head the Payments function within the Purchase-to-Pay end-to-end process at its Bengaluru shared services centre. This is a leadership role that demands a strong command of payment operations, internal controls, and cross-functional stakeholder management. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, team development, and continuous process improvement across regional and global entities. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the Payments team including Analysts and Senior Analysts, ensuring high performance, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement - Oversee daily payment operations including payment execution, exception handling, and risk management across multiple entities and regions - Serve as the primary escalation point for high-value, high-risk, or critical payment issues and ensure timely resolution with clear stakeholder communication - Own process governance, internal controls, and audit readiness covering approval workflows, SoD compliance, bank authorisation matrices, and documentation quality - Collaborate with Finance leadership on cash management, funding alignment, cut-off strategies, and cash-outflow risk mitigation - Drive transformation initiatives including automation, bank harmonisation, ERP or payment platform changes, and transition activities - Monitor team performance through KPIs, service levels, risk indicators, and capacity planning - Partner with regional and global teams including Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cash and Bank, Master Data, and HR to resolve operational issues Required Qualifications - Bachelor degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline - Extensive experience in Payments, P2P, Accounts Payable, or Finance Operations within a shared services or complex operational environment - Proven people leadership experience including performance management, coaching, onboarding, and team development - Strong end-to-end knowledge of payment processes, banking operations, internal controls, and risk management - Solid SAP expertise in FI and AP modules along with experience in payment programs and bank connectivity platforms - Demonstrated track record in process optimisation, transitions, or transformation projects - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently across functions and seniority levels - Fluent business English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage Why Join Us Siemens Energy operates across 90 plus countries and is committed to shaping the global energy transition through innovation, inclusion, and responsible business practices.
