Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview WSP in India is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will carry out detailed mechanical designs for building services under the supervision of discipline project delivery leads. You will ensure high-quality design work that adheres to relevant standards, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality mechanical building services designs on time and within project scope - Carry out detailed engineering designs in accordance with local and international standards - Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews on your own designs and team deliverables - Embed health, safety, and sustainability practices into all engineering work - Participate in project meetings and coordinate with CAD technicians and other project engineers - Utilize specialized engineering software such as HAP, Hevacomp, or IES for thermal and design calculations - Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) across the project lifecycle Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, BSc Hons, or BTech) - Minimum 4 years of experience within building services design at engineering consulting organizations - Familiarity with Middle East building codes and standards (DEWA, DM, DCD, SEWA) is highly desirable - Exposure to green building design requirements and sustainable engineering systems - Proficiency in industry-standard software like HAP, Hevacomp, or IES, alongside MS Office - Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills Why Join Us WSP is a world-leading professional services consulting firm driven by international brainpower and local expertise. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering - 4+ years of experience in mechanical building services design at an engineering consultancy - Technical proficiency in HVAC and building services software (HAP, Hevacomp, IES) - Knowledge of green building designs and international regulatory codes - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Successful completion of a background verification check is required for hiring
