Manager, Financial Accounting, Asset Management

Role Overview HSBC is one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations, operating across 64 countries and territories. We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Finance Operations team in Chennai as Manager, Financial Accounting, Asset Management. This role sits within the Management Reporting function and plays a key part in supporting global CFO teams, business finance partners, and strategic planning processes. Key Responsibilities - Prepare monthly Opco reports, product and segment reports, cost and FTE reports, and Client Profitability MI with supporting analytical commentary - Conduct Actuals versus Forecast analysis with end-to-end ownership of data, reporting, and value-adding insights - Collate and prepare Annual Operating Plan, Latest Estimate, and Outturn submissions for the HSBC Group - Perform moderate to complex financial analysis using existing and new financial models to support strategic planning activities - Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of cost data including journals, accruals, and allocations into ledgers and reporting systems - Prepare allocation metrics through the Cost and Distribution Tool and analyse charges to global business units - Manage submissions, reviews, reconciliations, and approvals of profit and loss and balance sheet financials at client level detail - Support FRP and Forecasting cycles, UAT reviews for Business and Function Framework changes, and data integrity controls in MI Actuals Required Qualifications - Qualified Accountant with CA, CWA, MBA, PG Commerce, or Graduate Commerce background and a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in financial and management reporting - Science or Arts graduates with relevant FP&A experience and strong working knowledge of reporting and automation tools such as Qlik, Python, Tableau, and QlikSense will also be considered - Strong familiarity with financial systems and data consolidation models including Omnia, TM1, HUB, and FTP is preferred - Solid understanding of banking business drivers, P&L, balance sheet, and audit and controls - Experience in cost reporting, stress testing, forecasting, or financial and management reporting is an advantage - Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder levels and business functions Why Join Us HSBC offers a workplace that values diversity, continuous professional development, and flexible working within an inclusive global environment. - Qualified Accountant (CA, CWA, MBA, PG Commerce or Graduate Commerce) with 4 or more years of post-qualification experience - Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Management Reporting, or Cost Reporting - Proficiency in reporting and automation tools such as Qlik, Python, Tableau, or QlikSense - Working knowledge of financial systems including Omnia, TM1, HUB, and FTP - Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and banking business drivers - Experience with data mining, financial statement analysis, and audit controls - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to lead process improvements and support change implementation
