Role Overview
HSBC, one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations with a presence across 64 countries, is looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager - Operations to join its Global Service Centre team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be a key part of the Global Billing Support function, managing end-to-end operations of the Global Billing System platform for Global Liquidity and Cash Management across multiple countries. You will handle customer onboarding, reference data setup, maintenance activities, and enquiry resolution while ensuring strict compliance and service quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard new customers onto the Global Billing System platform and provide ongoing maintenance and support
- Manage day-to-day operational tasks including mailbox clearance, handling escalations, and ensuring all bills are processed within defined cut-off timelines
- Ensure end-of-day checks are completed and all tasks are prioritised and executed in line with established procedures
- Identify and report common frauds, errors, and irregular transactions and take corrective action as per guidelines
- Monitor team service quality to maintain high customer service standards and drive quality awareness campaigns
- Continuously assess operational risks and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technology adoption
- Develop and maintain cross-training plans to address contingency needs and staff progression requirements
- Conduct performance management reviews, create personal development plans, and recognise service excellence within the team
- Maintain audit readiness for all processes and keep operational control documentation current
- Manage capacity planning, leave management, and workflow prioritisation to handle fluctuating volumes effectively
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in billing operations and investigations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong planning, multi-tasking, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with a focus on accuracy
- Ability to design, develop, and performance-tune operational reports
- Capability to derive actionable insights from large datasets
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts including weekends
