Lead Firmware Engineer

Role Overview Logitech is looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Firmware Engineer to join its Chennai team and take a central role in developing firmware for next-generation display-based devices. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge gaming and computer peripheral products while collaborating with engineers across the globe. You will bring deep technical expertise in embedded systems and help shape the performance, reliability, and functionality of Logitech's innovative hardware lineup. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and optimize firmware for display-based devices using microcontrollers such as STM32x and NRFx as well as microprocessor units - Implement and integrate graphical libraries to improve user interfaces and overall device experience - Work with cross-functional global teams to develop sensor interfacing and support communication protocols including USB, BLE, I2C, SPI, and UART - Perform system-level debugging, performance tuning, and reliability improvements across the firmware stack - Contribute to real-time control algorithms and data processing routines to meet product performance requirements - Partner closely with hardware and software engineers worldwide to ensure seamless and cohesive firmware integration Required Qualifications - Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development with a strong focus on firmware for display-based or peripheral devices - Proficiency in C and C++ programming along with strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities - Extensive hands-on experience with microcontroller programming including STM32x, NRF5xx, and Ti CCx platforms - Deep knowledge of real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, QP/C, or Zephyr - Solid understanding of serial communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, and UART - Experience with power management within microcontroller environments is a strong advantage - Familiarity with USB protocol, Bluetooth, or other wireless communication standards - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within global distributed teams Why Join Us Logitech fosters an inclusive, diverse, and flexible work culture where your contributions have real global impact. - 10 or more years of embedded software and firmware development experience - Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming languages - Hands-on expertise with STM32x, NRF5xx, and Ti CCx microcontrollers - Experience with RTOS platforms including FreeRTOS, QP/C, and Zephyr - In-depth knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, and other serial interfaces - Experience with USB protocol, Bluetooth, or wireless communication standards - Knowledge of power management in microcontroller environments - Strong system-level debugging skills from application layer to hardware - Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
