Lead Firmware Engineer

Role Overview Logitech is looking for a skilled Lead Firmware Engineer to join its expanding Test Automation team in Chennai. This is a full-time, hybrid role suited for professionals with a strong foundation in embedded systems, FPGA development, and Python-based test automation. You will play a key role in supporting and improving automation frameworks used in consumer electronics test fixtures. Key Responsibilities - Support the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Python-based Test Frameworks - Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python for embedded system validation - Add and modify firmware modules on Xilinx-based FPGA boards - Perform hands-on assembly, wiring, and integration of electronic test benches including sensors, connectors, and harnesses - Execute manual and automated testing in line with detailed test plans and procedures - Debug and troubleshoot electronic circuits, signal integrity, and connectivity issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, USB analysers, and power supplies - Collaborate with validation engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and product quality - Document test procedures, results, and contribute to clear tool documentation Required Qualifications - 6 to 10 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or embedded systems validation - Solid proficiency in Python programming - Hands-on knowledge of Xilinx FPGA boards and firmware module development - Familiarity with communication protocols including UART, USB, Ethernet, and Bluetooth - Exposure to manual and automated testing methodologies - Strong understanding of electronics engineering fundamentals - Proficiency with standard lab instruments and measurement tools - Good verbal and written communication skills in English - Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Preferred: Xilinx Certified VHDL and Verilog Designer or ISTQB certification Why Join Us Logitech is a globally recognised brand that champions diversity, collaboration, and innovation across all levels.
